Vacation rentals are a great option for larger family groups — many properties in Saint Thomas offer private pools, full kitchens, and stunning ocean views at a lower per-person cost than hotels. We recommend searching for properties near Charlotte Amalie or Red Hook for easy access to reunion venues.
✈️ Getting There & Getting Around
✈️ Flying In
Fly into Cyril E. King Airport (STT) on Saint Thomas. Direct flights available from many major US cities including Miami, New York, Atlanta, and Charlotte.
🚢 Ferry from St. Croix
Family coming from St. Croix can take the seaplane or ferry to Saint Thomas. The ferry dock is located in Christiansted.
🚗 Getting Around
Renting a car is recommended — Saint Thomas drives on the left side of the road. Taxis are also plentiful and affordable for short trips.
🌡️ Weather in June
Expect warm tropical weather — highs around 88°F (31°C) with occasional afternoon showers. Pack light, breathable clothing and sunscreen.
💳 Currency & Entry
The USVI uses the US Dollar. No passport needed for US citizens — a government-issued photo ID is sufficient for travel from the mainland.
🏥 Health & Safety
Saint Thomas has modern medical facilities. Travel insurance is recommended. The Roy L. Schneider Hospital is the main medical center on the island.
